God has intended marriage to be one man--one woman for life. With the marriage itself, come vows of a covenant that are taken in the presence of witnesses, not the least of which is the Lord himself. A study of what God thinks of people breaking vows to him is worth shuddering over.

We must not view ourselves as a generation of practical innovators moving the Church forward to ever-greater successes as some of the emergent-type churches of today. We are humble servants of Jesus, exhorted “to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3).
